TOWCESTER & DISTRICT LIONS CLUB
TOWCESTER & DISTRICT LIONS CLUB was founded in April 1974. Since that date, its members have taken an active role in providing a voluntary service to help people less fortunate than themselves.
Over the years the Club has assisted many local families in distress, and provided holidays for the disabled. We have bought essential equipment for local hospitals and health centres, and supported both national and international charities. We have collected several thousand unwanted spectacles for use in the Third World, and passed on unwanted tools to "Tools For Self Reliance" enabling them to send over 500 refurbished toolkits to Africa etc. We distribute the Lions Lifeline Bottle throughout this part of the County.
Our projects are funded by money raised from the public by street collections, running the Farmer's Market and Stalls at local shows etc. and by the personal services of LIONS Club members.
Our members believe that voluntary service should be fun. Each month the Club arranges a purely social event for members, their partners and friends. These include countryside walks, pub games evenings, outdoor activities, speaker evenings and visits.
The greater the membership of the LIONS, the more impact we can have in helping our local community. If you feel that you would “MAKE A GOOD LION” or simply wish to know more about the Club, please contact the Secretary,
